Yesterday, time borak2 . My fren (A) tell me about his conversation with his boss(B)..

B: Whats your monthly expenses?
A: Hmm about 3 to 4k per mth not inclusive my car and house installment.
(note : looks okay for a family of 4 plus 1 maid)
B: Wah .. so cheap ah! Mine is more than RM20k per mth
(note : B got 1 wife, 3 kids & 1 maid)
A: Oooo I see
B: My kids education is inclusive, but not the installment yet, how can you maintain such a low monthly expenses.
(Note : 2 of B's kids is studying in boarding school at Melbourne (self finance))
A: As simple as this, if I open your fridge & look at your fruits only, they can easily cost you more than RM500 every time you shop. Thats not count the fresh steak and others yet, and your meals outside.

Wah! for fruits only, every time shop, more than RM500, and I know B's wife shop for fruits every week .... If my late father ever heard this conversation, wonder what will be his comment. His income as a padi planter for 4-6 month is less than a month fruit supply to B's family. Teringat my masa kecik2, fruits to us is free, panjat pokok mangga tepi rumah dapat mangga, kalau tak pun tunggu mangga luruh .. Nak buah sawa, just make a sarung or sangkar kat galah then kait pokok tepi rumah tok (now pokok sawa dah tak de), buah jambu batu, jambu air, belimbing besi etc semua kat keliling rumah. Pisang jangan cakapla .. apath lagi kelapa muda. Nak dgn tak nak je. Itu baru fruits, beras mmg tak yah beli just hantar padi baru just upah mesin kat kilang - dpt beras baru lagi, sayur2 memang dah keliling rumah, ayam itik semua hasil bela sendirian berhad, cuma kalau nak makan ikan kena beli. Rasanya cost of living time tu murah sangat as compared to now.

Yesterday evening, balik me pergi pasar tani coz last weekend tak pergi pasar. Me tak beli byk coz this weekend nak pergi Kuala Selangor .. ration untuk 3 hari ni ..

Ayam & ikan .. biasalah .. tulang tu sbb teringin nak makan sup tulang fresh .. hmm memang fresh, kuih2 for kids supper lepas study for exam tomorrow, pisang for Luqman & hmm nyam2 jambu air (huhuhu dulu2 free jer). Me jarang kira bila pergi pasar, coz selalunya beli tak byk, this time terasa nak kira, me keluarkan 4 keping note 50 letak dlm purse, masa balik me tgk cuma tinggal 2,3 keping note merah & seringgit. Meaning that tangkapan yg sedikit tupun lebih 150 hanya di pasar tani. Rupanya selama ni tak perasan, keciknya nilai duit sekarang. Abt 10++ years ago, me boleh beli macam2 kalau bawa duit 50 pergi pasar .. siap berbaki lagi.

sis, memang mahal tapi 20K? banyaknya duit dia? ours majority goes to food, susu dan diapers. of clourse keta and rumah tak blh nak elak. i have small budget for my 'berdandan' each month. with my gaji, dapat jugak save some for meself and anak2. alhamdulillah..

ReplyDeleteMemang pun nilai RM50 tu sekarang dah macam Rm10..tak banyak yg boleh di beli..kalau tukar jer RM50..nanti bila balik tinggal berapa hengget jer..kan??...

ReplyDeleteagree with u, cost of living nowadays quite high esp for those live in a big city like kl... kena pandai bajet n kena pandai berbelanja kan..
betul, bila fikir2 balik, kalau gi beli barang dapur, skrg ni kalau tak lebih 100 tak sah, padahal bukan ambik apa sangat pun.. some said, beli lauk bungkus lagi murah...
but still, efeknya tak sama dengan makanan yg dimasak dengan penuh kasih sayang..
lady leisure, i have to agree with u. masakan dirumah hasil air tgn sendiri, takkan sama dgn yang dibeli diluar.
